Islands destinationMykonos islandCyclades islands | Aegean sea
Located in the heart of the Cyclades in the Aegean sea, Mykonos is undoubtedly one of the most famous Greek islands, nicknamed the Ibiza of Greece for its vibrant nightlife ! The island is about 93 miles southeast of Athens and is surrounded by many islands such as Tinos to the northwest, Syros to the west, Paros and Naxos to the south

The beating heart of the island
Your adventure on the island certainly begins in Mykonos, the main town of the same name as the island, called Chora by the locals. Mykonos is a picturesque town where narrow cobblestone streets wind between white houses with blue shutters.

This maze of alleys, all looking alike, allowed the town to resist invaders who would end up getting lost in this labyrinth, but it offers tourists a wonderful walk with shops selling local crafts such as jewelry, art galleries, cafes and lively bars.
One of the most iconic views of Mykonos is that of the 16th-century windmills, perched on a hill overlooking the sea, facing Little Venice. These historic mills recall the island's agricultural past and offer the perfect setting to admire the sunset.
Don't miss a visit to the Little Venice area where the balconies of the houses directly overlook the sea, creating a postcard-worthy landscape.
Paradisiacal Beaches
The island of Mykonos is renowned for its stunning beaches and offers a variety of beaches to suit every taste, from peaceful relaxation spots to lively beach clubs.
Partygoers will head to Paradise Beach and Super Paradise Beach, where the music never stops and the outdoor clubs are buzzing day and night. These beaches are famous for their extravagant parties, where international DJs regularly perform.
For a more tranquil atmosphere, head to the beaches of Agios Sostis or Fokos on the northern side of the island to enjoy the sun on the sand by crystal-clear waters, far from the crowds.
A visit to its neighbor Delos
One of the must-dos is a trip to the neighboring island of Delos, a UNESCO World Heritage archaeological site. The island of Delos was once a major religious and commercial center in ancient times and today it is considered one of the most important archaeological sites in Greece.
You can explore ancient ruins, including temples, theaters and houses with incredibly well-preserved mosaics.
Where to stay ?
The island of Mykonos offers luxurious hotel resorts, private villas with sea views, as well as more modest accommodations like guesthouses or boutique hotels in the center of Chora.
How to get there ?
The easiest way to get to Mykonos is by taking a direct flight or a connecting flight to Mykonos Airport, offered by major airlines from many major European cities.

You can also reach the island by ferry from Athens via the ports of Piraeus or Rafina, or from other nearby Cyclades islands.
Mykonos is a must-stop for cruises in the Cyclades departing from the port of Lavrio in Athens.
Did you know ?
With all its legendary clubs like Cavo Paradiso, located on top of a cliff with stunning views of the sea, or Scorpios by the water, the island of Mykonos rivals Ibiza and attracts an international crowd, celebrities and electronic music lovers for a cosmopolitan and festive atmosphere that lasts until the early morning !
