Water parks guideVolcano Bay water parkOrlando | Florida
In Orlando, theme parks are the city's main attraction ! Florida's climate, with its very sunny days and especially hot summers, makes water parks perfect for cooling off, enjoying various types of water slides, and lounging in the sun !
An erupting volcano
Volcano Bay is Universal's water park and, like other Orlando water parks, it features a massive wave pool with a large white sandy beach lined with palm trees, water slides, and a lazy river. However, this time, it’s all set within an erupting volcano surrounded by lush tropical vegetation.
In terms of scenery, Volcano Bay water park competes with Disney's Blizzard Beach !
The volcano intermittently spews a plume of steam from its summit, and its eruptions are visible from Interstate I-4 if you take it to drive to the water park.
Access to the park is via a bus from the Universal parking lots in downtown Orlando, unless you choose to stay at the Cabana Bay hotel located at the base of Volcano Bay.
Volcano Bay is divided into several themed areas including « Rainforest Village » « River Village » « Wave Village » and « The Volcano » featuring the most impressive slide, « Ko'okiri Body Plunge » which starts at a height of 125 feet at the top of the volcano. !

An ingenious system of connected wristbands
Once the scene is set, Volcano Bay Water Park is no exception and offers visitors a dizzying array of slides ! At first, it can be challenging to navigate the park, but maps are available to help you find your way and a clever system of connected wristbands allows you to reserve your attraction and return later when it's your turn, without spending your time in endless lines !
While the countdown for your next attraction runs on your wristband like a timer, you can queue for another less busy attraction or enjoy the river with its current and the huge wave pool !
Once your time is up, head to your attraction to enjoy it immediately and book a new one.
If you want to remember your visit to Volcano Bay, photo stations are set up throughout the park to capture the moment with a group photo pose.
Water roller coasters
Experience something new with the Krakatau Aqua water roller coaster, this innovative attraction eliminates the need to climb a series of endless stairs to access it ! It’s like a traditional roller coaster but with a water twist. Hop into your raft and ascend the mountains before plunging down the rapids ! It’s a true delight !
Since the "Krakatau Aqua" coaster is the main attraction at Volcano Bay, it's no surprise that wait times can quickly reach up to 175 minutes, so be sure to book your slot early to enjoy this incredible experience !
Relaxation, sliding and speed !
The "TeAwa The Fearless River" takes you through its rapids and caves, while the wave pool with its Waturi Beach of white sand awaits you for sunbathing and enjoying the view !
Since the river's current is quite strong, you'll need to wear a properly fitting life jacket before heading into the river.
For a leisurely float through Volcano Bay, hop onto a large inflatable tube and drift along the "Kopiko Wai Winding River" which gently winds its way through the entire park and its lush vegetation.
Private spaces are available for rent to spend a day with family or friends at the water park away from prying eyes. Real cabanas for a cozy atmosphere !
At dusk
As night falls, Volcano Bay transforms into a magical scene with lighting that highlights the volcano's roars. As visitors begin to leave, it's the perfect time to enjoy the attractions and find the ones with the shortest wait times to experience them multiple times in a row.
