Travel guideOrlando, the kingdom of theme parks !Florida travel guide
Orlando is ideally located in central Florida, just an hour's drive from the Atlantic ocean and barely two hours from the Gulf of Mexico. Cape Canaveral, Cocoa Beach, Daytona Beach, Tampa and Sarasota are all easily accessible from Orlando thanks to a well-developed highway infrastructure.
Orlando is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the United States, primarily because of its numerous theme parks and attractions, drawing around 75 million visitors each year !
In Orlando, theme parks are the main attraction, with each park offering a unique experience, making a single day feel too short to explore and enjoy all the activities available.
But where the challenge arises is that Orlando isn’t just home to one theme park ! In fact, you won’t have enough fingers to count them all, so choices must be made! Rest assured, there’s a theme park in Orlando for everyone !
The Magic of Disney
Disney parks cover several acres and include not only the globally renowned Disney World Magic Kingdom but also the Hollywood Studio, Epcot, and Animal Kingdom theme parks. Additionally, two water parks, Disney Blizzard Beach and Disney Typhoon Lagoon, offer incredible experiences. Each Disney park provides a new and magical adventure !
The geodesic « Spaceship Earth » a giant sphere at the center of the park, is the iconic symbol of Disney's Epcot theme park, representing innovation and discovery and serving as a focal point at the park's entrance.
The « Tree of Life » a massive artificial tree with over 300 animal carvings on its trunk, is the emblem of Disney's Animal Kingdom. This tree stands at the center of the park, symbolizing the diversity of animal life on our planet.
Thrills at Universal
Universal Studios is, along with Disney World Magic Kingdom, another must-see theme park in Orlando, drawing countless visitors and immersing you in the world of Harry Potter. Whether at Universal Studios or Universal’s Islands of Adventure, excitement is guaranteed !

Sea World theme park
Sea World theme park takes you on a journey through the marine world from various perspectives with its glass tunnel aquariums, orca shows, and marine-themed attractions like a manta ray coaster that flies through the park !
Aquatica is Sea World’s water park, offering beaches, slides, and a lazy river, similar to Disney’s water parks but with a less magical atmosphere.
From Orlando
Orlando is also a gateway to explore Florida’s manatees at Crystal River, learn about space exploration at Cape Canaveral, attend a NASCAR race in Daytona, or simply enjoy a day at the beach in Cocoa Beach. Orlando is the perfect base for a multi-day stay, offering relaxation, fun, shopping, and nearby attractions.
How to get there ?
Each theme park offers extensive parking, with Disney's lots sprawling as far as the eye can see and Universal’s parking stacked across multiple levels. It's important to note your parking spot using theme-specific icons to avoid losing your car. Alternatively, bus services provide a convenient option, though be mindful of their schedules.
Pass options
Various ticket options are available to maximize your theme park experience: single-day or multi-day passes, access to one or multiple parks, and the option to add water park entry on the same day or skip the lines.
Multi-day passes save money compared to daily admission and offer greater flexibility to explore different theme parks at your leisure, including parks with later closing times !
Among the available passes, you’ll find the Disney theme park pass or the "Orlando Flex Ticket," which grants access to 5 or 6 attractions depending on the package.
