Must-try dishes include seafood pasta, stuffed calamari and the famous Sicilian specialty « pane cunzatu », a bread cut in half, served warm, drizzled with olive oil and topped with tomatoes, anchovies, capers and cheese.
To accompany these delights, nothing beats a glass of Malvasia or white Muscat, a sweet wine produced in the Aeolian Islands.
How to get there ?
Lipari is accessible directly by ferry or hydrofoil from the towns of Milazzo, the closest port to the Aeolian Islands and Messina, both located in northeastern Sicily.
